What she left behind
Eleanor Dumont was not only the first professional woman black jack player but was the first pro player of all!
That's right it wasn't a man who was the first. nope think again it was a 21 year old woman. Just to think, men were always saying how gambling wasn't a woman's game well check again because she was the 1st pro. I think this showed a lot of other women that we can do it too. We are capable of so much more than what society says we are., we can overcome those stereotypes any day and anytime. I believe Eleanor has proved that.. So what she grew up not in the best place but it's not how you start but how you end. And Eleanor ended with being nominated into the Hall of Fame., you go girl! I feel like she has inspired so many girls along the years of the famous Eleanor Dumont first ever pro Black Jack player. It's like she increased women's self esteem as a whole, together. Her legacy was that any gender can do anything they want to do with no regarding what society wants to say about it. It doesn't matter what you are doing whether it's, gambling or winning a Nobel Peace Prize it's all the same in some way and everyone has a chance to get what they want if they are really committed to what they are doing. Just like Eleanor, she had a great passion for gambling and even though it was the reason she ended her own life, she did so much with it years before. It wasn't all bad, there are good in everything and I love how Eleanor's attitude was. She can independent and not need a man and look what happened, she got into the Hall of Fame for what she did. It might not have been a presidential legacy but it was something special and I'm glad to have learned it.
